The documentary competiton category provides filmmakers from around
the world with an opportunity to showcase their ideas and views, whilst bridging
cultural differences. We welcome documentaries that also encourages
dialogue not just between their subjects but also among filmmakers from around the world,
be it either from Africa, Asia, Americas, Ocenia, Europe or wherever, and thosewho re not fraid
to burn bridges on their cultural differences, for the people or on behalf ot the people that
come from different background, culture and language, religion and
•Provide a platform to filmmakers and the film follwers where they can view
or see what others in the world are faced with the struggles and problems, battles and issues some people face.
•Create new platforms for dialogue, understanding and sharing views.
•Encourage the exchange of best practices.
•Link local and online audience with emerging filmmakers worldwide.
•Foster the development of film screening, film projects and collaborations.
To bring to our audience, documentaries from around the world, from any country and any language, on any topic,
and we would like to tackle the ever increasing cultural barriers that existed for
thousands of years, each year to cover issues relating to the development
and promotion of independent filmmakers and cinema in all regions. We also hope to
improve the outcome result including:
•The encouragement and support for documentary makers, and film projects.
•To help improve the career opportunities for filmmakers.
•To encourage and open the creativity, vision, thoughts, voice of filmmakers.
As we are strong supporters and believers in peace, freedom of speech, freedom of expression and freedom of story telling in general.
All terms and conditions outlined on 3rd party platforms must be reviewed
and agreed to.
You must be the authorized person to submit this film to the festival. All information
application form is true, to the best of your knowledge. If the film
is selected for the
Festival, you give permission for Colortape International Film Festival
[CIFF] to use
images, sounds and excerpts from the work for promotional purposes
in all media
and on The CIFF website. I hold the Colortape International Film Festival
from damage or loss of the print en route or otherwise during the
course of the Festival’s possession of the film. This agreement
constitutes approval that CIFF may present the film at this years
Colortape International Film Festival.
Please submit online your film in MP4 format preferable on any listed platform,
alternatively you may send us 2x copies either on DVD or BluRayUSB stick to
our address listed on our web site. Please include an agreement that
COLORTAPE can showcase your documentary in open space, public venues
and screenings and we can use it for screening distribution amongst other films,
on a pre-compiled DVD of films submited into our competition each year.
ALL foreign films MUST hve English subtitles embedded in the film, or attached in SRT file format. Footage sound/voice translation (dub over) is also OK.
If need to, we will endeavour to represent your interest and negotiate for a
distribution rights on your behalf with agents we may know of or have
asssociation with. If there is interest in your film from distributors
we will let you know. we reserve the right to anywhere beween 5%-30% comission from
any deals (to be negotiated with you). We can further discuss this in due course. This year we are working on a joint-venture partnership with a 3rd party,
to help you sell your film online, if interested. More info can be found on our wen site at the end of this year.

It is solely up to the filmmaker to compress the film (file) as small as possible and zip it or arj it to make it a small file. 5 points will be deducted if filesn are too large.No exceptions!
The magazine was put together by us dedicated to our filmmakers and features biographies, or a short synopsis, posters and photos about films submitted in our festival.
Those who would like to feature in our magazine, please send us a short 300 word synopsis of your film/script/animation/docos please send us an email requesting to be included. A FREE oftcopy (pdf file) can be sent to ONLY those who participated in our festival.
